  • My TV Tray Table Design

Finally took some photos of this now patented design of mine.  Write-up on features and production options on my blog now published: https://4dfurniture.blogspot.com/2024/02/an-improved-tv-tray-table-design.html   Open to feedback, questions or criticisms.  Don't know much of the process to get it patented as that was taken care of by the University I taught at.  It did take a couple years from start to finish though.  4D

    Let the Fun Begin!

Hi everyone-starting on my new Aavegotchi Intarsia creation titled "Farmer has a Farm". I have drawn the rough pattern for the farmer and have chosen the palate of woods . From left to right-Pernambuco, Holly, Purpleheart,Lacewood, Blue Mahoe, Pink Ivory, Wenge and Maple. Got all of the pieces cut and assembled for the Farmer and am working on the shaping and texturing of each piece. Decided that the Farmer needed a Spirit Gem belt buckle. 36 pieces from 8 woods. To be continued!!

    Wednesday's Wisdom For Woodturners April 17, 2024

The old Dogwood tree, outside my window, should be in full bloom tomorrow. Hard to believe when I transplanted it, from my parents mountain property, it was a single, spindly stick. That was 56 years ago!     Our Patriot Turners- @RustyFN showed us a beautiful new turned lidded box he made. He said this one is made from Maple.   He certainly has perfected the flocking technique, too! Our turners gave him lots of compliments in his post-     @Ge

    Wood filler suggestion?

about 25 years ago, I got using Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Filler in about 3.5 oz tubes.  I like it really well, despite not coming out of the tubes very easily.  I'm finally at the point where I need to restock.  I am having trouble finding them.  Prices range from about $2 (plus shipping) to about $16 for the same thing (sometimes even at the same place for different colors !?).   Walmart carries them, but the nearest inventory is 55 miles away.  Before I opt in for shipping or Walmart+, does an

    Education

Education One of the many projects we are working on is a wiki for our online community. A wiki is a great way for woodworkers and enthusiasts to share their knowledge to others, and to impart their knowledge for others to learn from, and utilize as well for their own benefit. We hope you'll consider being a wiki contributor. Research Do you love researching? Do you like to write about subjects in a factual non-biased style? Do you like leaving your footprint of knowledge behind f
